Teri's Bio - What a Storyteller! Teri King was always a huge fan of stories, even when she was young. She could finish the little books given her in grade school faster than anyone else in her class. She would gobble up books quicker than you could say "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain." Her love for stories grew along with her. By the time she hit middle school, she could take in a 200 page novel in one sitting. By high school she was reading at least 30 or so books a year. It was also in high school where Teri began writing. In her Sophomore year of high school, Teri took a Creative Writing course, but even then her love for writing had not yet fully sprouted; but on the up side, a lovely hobby had sprung up. Also, at this time in her life, Teri's number one love and passion was music. It was down this path that she felt led. |

As Teri prepared for college, the direction she looked for a major was not in English, but in Music. She soon learned that this was not the path she had been called to travel, but she still did not see the true path she was to take. Instead, she decided on Wedding Planner, and then even Interior Designer. But she was still incomplete and did not know where she was to be going with life. Then, at the beginning of her sophomore year of college, she took a writing course that changed her. The course was a repeat of one she had taken the semester before, with the same professor as before. Knowing the professor helped Teri to open up a little and experiment with her writing. As the semester progressed, the professor helped Teri to have confidence in herself and her writing, helping her to see that she really was talented in the area of writing. For weeks Teri struggled with the idea of becoming a writer, not sure if it was meant to be where she was to go in life. Her writing had been a hobby for nearly five years, but it was so much more expansive than any hobby should be. After struggling and wrestling with the thought of it, Teri knew that being a writer was what God wanted for her life. All her other plans for her life had been just that, her plans. But she knew this was right, because she knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God had placed this path in front of her.
More About Teri King Teri King was born in Northern Michigan (though not as far north as the UP). A year later her younger sister was born, and her family moved to the Detroit area. It is there that Teri grew up and spent her childhood. Teri still lives in the Detroit area with her parents and younger sister. They share their home with their four pets: three dogs and a cat. When Teri is not writing, she loves being able to just curl up with a good novel. She also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and spending quality time with her close friends and family. Though not her best skill, Teri enjoys attempting to cook and bake. She also loves rainy days, especially when she gets the chance to go out and dance in it.
